Disclosure: This comparison is written by the SepticCycle team. FieldPulse details come from FieldPulse's public website as of October 2026. We have done our best to represent it fairly. Please confirm current pricing and features with FieldPulse before making a decision.
Quick Overview
FieldPulse is a general field service platform serving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, garage door, locksmith, septic and several other trades. It covers scheduling, dispatch, estimates, invoicing, payments, inventory, maintenance agreements and reporting, with native mobile apps.
SepticCycle is built only for septic and onsite wastewater companies. It covers the same day-to-day work, scheduling, invoicing, contracts and payments, and adds the parts that are specific to septic: county compliance reports, waste manifests, land application records and per-tank service history.
The real question is not which platform is better software. It is whether you want a multi-trade platform that you adapt to septic, or a septic platform that already works the way you do.
Pricing
FieldPulse does not publish prices. Its pricing page describes seat-based pricing built around your team, and asks you to request a custom quote. Third-party review sites report that it has moved to separate full-access and field-only seats, but you will need a quote to know your number.
SepticCycle is $149 a month per company, published on our website, with unlimited users, trucks and customers and every feature included. There are no seats to count, no tiers and no contract. For why that matters as your team grows, see the true cost of per-user pricing.

County Compliance & Manifests
This is the biggest difference. FieldPulse's septic page describes custom forms for inspection checklists and compliance documents, which you build yourself. We did not find county reporting, waste manifests or land application records among its advertised features.
In SepticCycle, these are built in:
- County Requirements: frequency, submission method, contact, portal link and deadline for each county
- Maintenance, inspection, installation, service summary and contract registration reports, renamed to match your county
- Per-county output as PDF or CSV, with the columns your county wants
- Email reports to the county, or send a daily packet as one merged PDF with signed contracts attached
- A status for every report, from Draft to Submitted to Confirmed or Rejected
- Waste manifests, including filling in your county's own PDF form
- Land application volume records, lime stabilization logs and cropping plans
If you serve counties that expect regular maintenance or inspection reports, that is the work you would otherwise be doing by hand alongside a general platform. Our county compliance guide goes deeper.
Maintenance Contracts
Both platforms handle maintenance agreements. FieldPulse stores contract terms, schedules recurring jobs from them, and notifies you before a contract comes up for renewal.
SepticCycle includes 24 pre-built septic contract templates, signed online. Its Renewals page shows every contract ending in the next 90 days with the value at risk, and renewing one creates the new contract and invoice and sends the customer a single link to review, pay and sign. Recurring work can be scheduled by zone, on each contract's anniversary day, around your company holidays. More in automating contract renewals.
Mobile for Field Techs
FieldPulse has native iOS and Android apps and advertises an offline mode for working without a signal. That is a genuine advantage.
SepticCycle's tech app runs in the phone's browser and can be added to the home screen, with nothing to install. Technicians get their schedule and a map of the day, GPS check-in, photos, checklists, signatures, manifests and payments on site. Today's jobs stay readable without a signal, and check-ins are saved and sent when the connection returns, but completing a job needs a connection. If your crews regularly work where there is no signal at all, weigh that carefully.
Where FieldPulse Is Stronger
To be fair, FieldPulse is the better fit if:
- You run several trades, such as septic plus plumbing or excavation, and want one platform for all of them
- Your techs need full offline use in a native mobile app
- You want purchase orders and live fleet tracking in the same system
- Your counties do not require regular compliance reporting, so the septic-specific tools matter less
The Verdict
FieldPulse is solid, broad field service software, and its septic page shows it takes the trade seriously. If septic is one of several things you do, it is worth a look.
If septic is your business, especially with aerobic maintenance contracts and county reporting, SepticCycle does that work out of the box, at a published flat price, with a 90-day free trial and a free setup call where we can import your customers for you.
